At New Growth, we specialize in Behavior Modification, a structured approach to addressing and correcting problematic behaviors in children ages 6 to 11. Behavior Modification is grounded in the principles of behaviorism and is a therapeutic method that focuses on identifying specific behaviors while using evidence-based strategies to bring about positive changes.
Our approach begins with a thorough observation of the child’s behaviors, followed by a collaborative process with parents/guardians to identify target behaviors that need modification. We develop a customized Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) that is both practical and therapeutic, designed to shape and reinforce positive behaviors while reducing or eliminating disruptive or harmful actions. Key strategies used include positive reinforcement, structured and consistent routines, reward systems, natural consequences, and skills-building exercises.
What makes our therapy especially effective is the active involvement of parents or guardians. We provide consultation and coaching to ensure that the techniques we implement are consistently applied in the home and daily routines. Continuous follow-up and adjustments ensure that progress is monitored and maintained. Through this comprehensive, compassionate approach, we empower children to thrive behaviorally, socially, and emotionally.
